Hey what’s up, my name is Jorge Peña and I’m Mexican-American. I am 18, born on February 4th of 1990. I was born and have lived in Southern California all my life. I’m a pretty easy going person, I tend to laugh things off rather than make a big deal over them. To tell you the truth, I laugh a lot, at least once everyday but usually way more than that, and that’s good, I actually like that about me haha. I don’t just laugh at anything though, I have a big sense of humor, so sometimes it might seem like I’m just laughing at nothing but I’m actually laughing at certain things that you might not have caught (Haha no I’m not crazy,…I don’t think…).
I use to have a frickin long page here but then I realized how stupid that was. I’ll just summarize myself as best I can here. I am really passionate about music, fitness, and computers. I am learning the Guitar right now (Poser Status, but I really love the guitar and hope to get good) on an Acoustic Brownsville. I also have an Electric Schecter Omen 6. I’m extremely passionate about music and I have been ever since I can remember. I started with oldies when I was young, moved onto other stuff like pop, hip hop, rap, and then rock. I’m into pretty much all types of rock including classical, metal, alternative, and more. But that’s not it, like I said, I’m really into music. I listen to foreign music a lot as well for example I grew up with and really like Spanish/Latin music, and I really like Italian singer Andrew Bocelli, some French music like Alizée, and yeah pretty much anything that sounds nice, such as this Portuguese song, “Nunca me Esqueci de Ti” (This particular one is a cover by the way).
I am also very interested in fitness and health. I began working out regularly the day before I turned 17 (Also the day I got my first Guitar/Instrument). To make a long story short, I went from failing many times to learning from my mistakes and making a habit out of working out. I regularly read fitness and health sites and blogs such as the great StrongLifts blog by Mehdi.
I’ve been working with computers ever since my family got our first one when I was 12. Before then, I didn’t know how to use one very much. I read books, learned the Internet like the palm of my hand, and now I’m a programmer in many languages, understand various technologies, specifications, Operating Systems, and pretty much have knowledge about everything having to do with computers (Not necessarily the best of knowledge, I mean I know about everything, not I know everything).
One thing I forgot to mention is I am really passionate about Digital Culture, the Internet, and am obsessed with Information. I love the fact that the Internet brings all of these things and more together, for free, let’s keep it that way. Because of this, I’m a supporter of Network Neutrality. I like to keep myself informed about all things and Digg is one of those sites that helps me do that.
