Here is a very simple and cheap authorization script I wrote in Python for the XChat IRC Client. I’m used to connecting to varoius IRC servers, so with this script, I’m able to issue commands such as /auth freenode after connecting to freenode to automatically authenticate myself in the freenode server; applying my nick and logging in to nickserv. Other commands can also be issued, it’s pretty easy to pick up. Check it out:

Just save it to a file called xauth.py for example, and put it in your ~/.xchat2/ directory (UNIX) or your xchat2 directory in the Program Files directory (Windows), the script will be autoloaded whenever you start up XChat.
