After much demand, I have finally created a Team Fortress 2: No Blood ‘patch’. I just took the German Blood Patch version 2.0, provided by DJ, which restores blood for German players, and reversed it (Haha, how ironic) in the same manner as I did with the CS:S No Blood Patch. This page is called TF2: No Blood, but as of version 1.3 it is a collection of low violence patches including no blood decals, no blood splashes, and funny gibs.
UPDATE: Version 1.3 now allows you to remove blood decals (The blood on the walls and stuff like that, textures basically), the blood splashes (The particle effects like when you’re shooting at someone and blood splashes off), and a new option to install funny gibs which replaces the bloody gibs with an explosion of funny models such as rubber duckies, springs, cogs, etc. (More fitting to the game if you ask me).
Download the installer version 1.3 here.
Install to your account folder inside the steamapps folder.
If you get blood or gibs again, you will have to re-install the patch. Some servers have custom blood or gib content that overrides this patch.
Looking for CS:S No Blood? It’s here.

awwww snap the blood started to come back. I don’t know wats wrong with it… The blood that comes from when you hit someone is still working but the blood splatter isn’t working. I need some assistance… please
@tripleat: If a server is a pure server, the no blood patch won’t work. Most servers aren’t pure servers so you should be fine most of the time. If anything ever goes wrong, just do a simple re-install of it and see if it works fine. Also, some servers have custom blood which you automatically download when you connect, so again just join a different server and it should be fine.
Can you please fix the CS:S link? It gives me a 404 when I click on it.
@Clank: It’s been fixed I believe. Sorry about that.
You guys are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love you guys!!! I have always wanted to play these games but the gore makes me feel guilty
Ok so srry for being a noob for asking this question but how would you install this into TF2, not the steam bought version but the regular game? I bought the game and I want to install this into it. The files are all the same its just I want to know where exactually I would install it into. (I don’t really know where the read-me file is.)
@-B0MB-: TF2 isn’t in the same place that I mentioned above? C:\Program File\Steam\steamapps ?
Wait a minute,( I bought TF2 on Ebay online but I haven’t receieved it yet) do you need to download steam in order to play online with TF2, even if you didn’t buy it from steam?
When you buy the game in retail, that is, the physical CD, not through Steam, you still must use Steam to play online. This is okay though because Steam allows you to register your game with your Steam account using the CD’s CD key. What you should wish for is that, if you bought the game used, the previous owner didn’t already register the game with their account, in which case you’d be screwed.
But yeah, just register the game with your steam account and use steam to download/install it. It will take longer because it has to download first, but it will be more up to date than the CD.
Ok, so then I would just install the mod into the steam/steamapps folder. Thnx very much.
One more question: Once I install the mod into the steamapps folder, is there anything else I have to do?
@-B0MB-: By mod you’re referring to my TF2 No blood patch right? If so, then yes. And no you don’t have to do anything else. Just join a server and play. If you notice blood, you most likely installed it to the wrong place, triple check you’re installing it to the correct place, it’s not JUST to the steam/steamapps folder, but steam/steamapps/yoursteamaccountname.
If you STILL see blood, then it’s most likely a pure server. Just join another server until it no longer happens. The majority of the servers aren’t pure servers so you shouldn’t have to look too hard.
ok, perfect, ty again.
Ok so I have the game up and running, I just need to know where exactly I install it, is it steam/steamapps/myusername? or is it steam/steamapps/myusername/teamfortress2/tf?
It says at the top, and I’ve told you many times, including my previous comment. It’s steam/steamapps/myusername. So select that folder then click next.
I was wondering if you knew of/could make a patch to get rid of all the screaming…
Also, how do you make a server “Pure”? I’d like to host one that makes everyone use the funnygibs & no blood.
Thanks
@Isaactoo: No, a Pure server is one that doesn’t allow you to use the funny gibs and no blood, a pure server only lets you use what came with the game and that’s it. As for hosting one with the funny gibs and stuff, I had a server as well in which I wanted to do that but I never had the time to do it so I canceled the server. The server has directories much like the directories in your steamapps folder, so what you would do is place the files/folders in the correct place. To do this, for example, make a test directory on your desktop and then install the no blood patch to that directory. Once it’s done, go into that directory and copy all the files and folders and stuff and put it into the team fortress/tf2 folder on your server, or there should be something like that.
Again, I’m sorry but I have no idea, it should be something like that though because I have indeed seen servers which modify the core game files.
It doesn’t work for me, i have allready installed the patch on steamapps but nothing happened.
I have tried to reinstall the patch…
Help me please
@Antonio: You DON’T install it to the steamapps folder, you install it to the folder that’s named after your steam account user name that’s INSIDE the steamapps folder.
Hey for some reason the patch isnt working, and I made sure it isnt a pure server.
I installed it in the steamapps folder, HELP PLEASE
@Wafflez:
Nevermind
Okay i know you can play TF2 without the disc, but when i don’t use the disc the blood and gibs come back.
Any explanations?
