Steve Vai - Tender Surrender

This is like my favorite guitar instrumental song EVER. It’s simply amazing, it’s like he’s making frickin love to the frickin guitar! I just discovered Steve Vai (A little late, yes I know) and this was one of the first songs I’ve heard from him. I’ve been listening to it every day over 20 times each day, morning, afternoon, night, I can’t get tired of it. One time I was listening to it all morning before school and I get to school and it’s playing in Mr. Tietz’ French class, I was all excited and he replayed it after it was over. Man, this is just a frickin amazing song I can’t get over the fact. It makes me love guitar even more, I wish some day I’d be able to play the song, most likely not as good as he does it but at least play it, that would be awesome. If I had more experience I would’ve played it by myself in the battle of the bands in school haha, because I like how it starts off all smooth and stuff (In our High School battle of the bands it’s usually metal/hard rock-ish bands, all noisy and stuff) and then all of a sudden the distortion kicks in and it gets insanely fast, it’s a beautiful mixture of emotions, it’s like he’s expressing himself through the guitar because it’s not repetetive, it doesn’t follow any type of structure, man I love it ;)

It’s 2008

So it’s now 2008. 2007 was a pretty cool year for me. I started working out the same day I got my guitar: The day before I turned 17, February 3rd. This year I’ve also been doing really well in school and stuff. Continue Reading

Armik and Nuevo Flamenco

I recently discovered Armik. He does a type of Flamenco called Nuevo Flamenco which is really really cool. It’s really nice to listen to when I just want to relax, pretty cool connecting to my Spanish roots haha. I like all that flamenco music and gypsy and all that. Check out some of his music. Yeah, It’s Good

I was just playing it to show my family because my dad said ‘oh it’s only 15 Watts but oh well you’re just starting off anyways’, so I wanted to show how 15 Watts was more than enough for me (haha). I realized that when I put the volume up it sounds great, I was actually having fun. Before I had the volume on barely on because I didn’t want to make much noise. Well, at least my worry of whether I had made a bad decision is over. The amp is pretty good, others agree.
