Another little program. This is a little tiny program that moves screenshots from the directory you specify to another directory you specify. Why would you want to do this? Because usually the best screenshot taking ‘program’ is the one built into the game intself, that way you don’t lag by having some program running in the background gathering the pixels on the screen during a fast action sequence. This is not a hassle because you can usually bind a key to take screenshots, the only downfall is that you have to go into the game folder, which is usually in the Program Files folder, and then navigate further down the tree to the screenshots folder, this is a hassle. This little tiny program scans the directory at configurable intervals and sits nicely in the system tray. Whenever the interval hits, it scans for screenshots and if there are any it moves them to a more accessible directory.
Why’d I write it? Well, it started when I was telling my Computer Science AP teacher about Screeny and she asked me if it would work during games, and I said it would but I didn’t suggest it because it would probably lag her (I haven’t tested it myself yet), and that most games usually have built-in screenshot taking capabilities already. She knew that, but it was a hassle going into the game folder all the time just to take a look at the screenshots, so I made this.
I know this isn’t all that ground-breaking, but if you guys like it or use it, and you’d like me to add/change/remove something, please tell me. I know I’ll use it and I hope it becomes useful to some of you. If you guys still insist on screenshots during gameplay by an external program, I’ll look into that but it’s something I’d rather not mess with because it probably still won’t be any better than the game screenshot taker, the only reason I can see is saving to different formats, and if there is demand, I might incorporate format conversion into this one.
