Well, after lots of trouble, I finally got it…. Codenamed ‘netPod’, I finally got my revived Musicaster to work, as I initially wanted it to. At the moment it only works with iTunes. You listen to a song, run it, and it POSTs the current track information to a receiver, and a reader script reads the information and displays it. This is strictly prototype, I’ll have the option to use either SQLite (If I ever get to it), MySQL, or flat-file (As I’m doing right now). This is an old program I started on last year but never really finished. It’ll be for tracking music. Currently I have support for WinAMP, Windows Media Player, and iTunes. If you would like any other players added let me know and I’ll see what I can do. I’ll have to do timed checking. I think the best bet would be a MySQL database, but that’d be hard for average-joes, we’ll see. Hopefully this will spawn a new era of music tracking hehe.
