TED Talk: The Web as Random Acts of Kindness

Just saw a pretty cool video on TED by Jonathan Zittrain on how selfless the Internet can be. Talks about how the Internet actually relies on trust many times and selfless acts of kindness from people. It’s pretty funny sometimes. I recommend it:

Google Acquires reCAPTCHA

So I’m a little slow to break the news, but on Wednesday, Google announced that it had acquired reCAPTCHA. This makes sense considering that Google has really been focusing on their Google Books initiative, which digitizes books and makes them available to the masses. There is also a similar initiative which focuses on digitizing and archiving news, including old newspapers and magazines. Continue reading ‘Google Acquires reCAPTCHA’
